In the Lack of Forest exhibition to commemorate 7th anniversary of the Hurricane 2017

Living the Wisdom of Nature. Human and the Biosphere took place on August 11, 2024, at the Cultural Centre in Rytel. The event brought together artistic, community, and environmental activities centered around the relationship between humans and the natural world, with particular reference to the landscape transformed by the 2017 hurricane.

The program began at 1:00 PM with a cyclists’ rally titled In the Footsteps of the Hurricane, led by Rafał Winiecki, followed at 4:00 PM by a motorcycle rally organized by the Aurochs Motorcycle Club from Chojnice.

The central part of the event started at 5:00 PM and included a recital by Martyna Miller, a speech by Janek Sabiniarz, and the opening of Miller’s exhibition In the Lack of Forest. The program also featured a presentation of the social campaign Heart of the Tuchola Forest Biosphere Reserve, referring to the largest biosphere reserve in Poland, designated by UNESCO’s International Coordinating Council of the Human and the Biosphere Programme.

The evening continued with a musical performance by Malowany Ptak & Blues and refreshments prepared by the local association KGW “Rytlanki”.

At 8:00 PM, the event concluded with a gathering at the roadside chapel in Rytel.
